Dan (May 2012)

“Thank you for responding to our call for help to reach our neighbours in the village of Rlantuo with the gospel,” declared Pastor Peter of the Vayenglay Church of the Nazarene in Liberia. “Two of our church members have already moved to Rlantuo and have started a new home bible study group there. With your church planting training and materials, we believe we will soon succeed in planting a new church in that village,” he related excitedly.

One of the training participants from his church, Oscar, said, “I had been leading a bible study in my home in the past, but through this Action Group training, I was able to learn many new spiritual truths. You have equipped me
to live a deeper Christian life and to talk to non-believers about their need to place their trust in Jesus.”

Training was conducted with the Church of the Nazarene in the Karnplay village. Its pastor, Rev. Tee, was very grateful to the Dan JESUS Film Church Planting Strategy Team for helping them “reach out to our neighbours with the good news of God’s amazing grace and love.”

Freeman, who attended the training, shared: “I enjoyed the Action Group training which helped me to gain a better understanding about the kind of person God wants me to be. The session on the local church clearly explained what my rights, privileges, and responsibilities are as a member of my local church. With God’s help I intend to conduct myself in accordance with what I have learned during this training.”

Currently, there are two Dan JFCPS teams working in Liberia. These teams, together with the pastors of three different mother churches, organized a Sunday morning baptismal service in Gbeahplay village where a new church had recently been planted.

Over 100 people attended, many of them being new believers. After hearing amazing testimonies of how God had transformed people’s lives, everyone marched together to the beat of African drums accompanied by loud and melodious singing of praises to God. They headed for the river where 22 new believers were baptized as a public expression of their faith in Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
