Dan (January 2012)

Since adopting a new church planting strategy earlier this year, the Dan JESUS film team has planted 11 churches in the villages of Gbeahplay, Gbor Sangarplay, Duo Sopa, Lowlay, Zor-Gbahplay, Geanplay, Duoplay, Gbeh-Youhnlay, Kissayplay, Kenlay New Town and Duo KPalah. This is in partnership with local churches from whom they trained church planters or action groups.

The pastors of those churches were enthusiastic. “No one wants to be a spectator in the mission of our Lord. I am therefore very happy for you to come to help me fully participate in multiplying disciples and churches. This is the vision of our denomination which is in line with our Lord Jesus’ commission. Thank you,” said Rev. Cooper Duo of the Church of the Nazarene in Borsonnoh Nimba.

Pastor Paul Dahn of Duoboe Church of the Nazarene in Duoboe, Nimba County said, “I am excited to have a Power to Change JESUS film team come as an answer to prayer. We have identified two communities to start church planting work there. This is an opportunity that we will not let go.”

Pastor Thompson Kpair was very grateful that the Dan church planting team helped them to plant another church. This was also the sentiment of Pastor Cooper Zuly who praised God for the strategy. Their church, which had been in only one place, succeeded to plant a second church among the Dan people.

“I appreciated that the church planting team has come to work with our church. We look forward to the action group training and also to working together with them to plant a new church,” said another pastor, David Zepoe.

A total of 102 people recommended by local pastors from their congregations, attended the action group trainings conducted by the Dan JESUS Film Church Planting Team.

“This action group training helped me to become a more effective disciple maker. I will now not only evangelize the people but follow-up on them to obey everything Jesus commanded including baptism of new believers,” said Junior Lah of the Vayenglay Church of the Nazarene.

His church mate, Isaac Bahn, was very appreciative. “The action group training was a real blessing to me,” he said. “I have learned a lot in these four days that will help me in my entire Christian life. I am very grateful to the JESUS film team who has come to help strengthen us in the faith.”

Emmanuel Mensohn of Logoatuo United Inland Church gave a similar feedback. “I have learned a lot during this week of action group training. I really thank God for this kind of church planting strategy. This training has taught me how to do follow-up of new believers in a meaningful way. I pray that God will give me courage and determination to apply all that I have learned during our training sessions.”
