“I thank the church planting team for helping us plant a new church in the town of Nyoaplay,” said Rev. John F. Kruah (shown below). “This town is widely known for sugarcane juice alcohol production and has been under a strong satanic influence. With the help the of the JESUS Film Church Planting Strategy team, we hope to see a remarkable spiritual transformation take place in the lives of many people from that village. Please pray that we will remain committed to our church planting work here,” he added.

That month, nine members from Rev. Kruah’s church, Denton Baptist Church located in Upper Karnplay, received training and proceeded to show the JESUS Film in the target area of Gbeh Nyoaplay. More than 700 people attended the showings and at least 110 prayed to receive Christ. Some 46 new believers committed to follow up. A church plant has been initiated in the village.

Action groups from other churches likewise underwent training and showed the JESUS Film in a total of 13 villages in a span of five months. As a result, new church plants are now in the villages of Fiahplay, Wehplay, Wea Neatuo, Duanpea, San Gbarplay, Sangar Mahnmieplay, Gwealay, Behyepea, Ganaglay, Zuahlay, Zuoplay, Saniquellie, and Gbeh Nyoaplay.

Rev. Cooper Duo of the Church of the Nazarene in Sanniquellie, Nimba County expressed his church’s plan to help plant new churches in every major community in and around Sanniquellie, capital of Nimba County. “I am very grateful to the JESUS Film Church Planting Team for helping us fulfill our dream,” he said. Fourteen members of his congregation received training in June and planted a church in College View Community in Sanniquellie.

United Liberia Inland Church in Lorplay Town planted two churches in one month. Its pastor, Pastor John Karnuel, and the seven people from his church who were trained were very grateful. “The action group training greatly helped me by teaching me how to follow up and disciple new believers in an orderly and effective manner. This is something that I had not learned to do before,” said Moses Wongbay, one of the members of the church.

Spiritual multiplication is beginning to take place in the region. A new church plant has started to replicate itself. “Though our church was planted only four months ago, we have a strong desire to reach out to our neighbours with the gospel,” said Pastor Oscar Klee of the Rlantuo Church of the Nazarene. “We have been going to the village of Duanpea where we started a bible study which is now being attended by eight villagers every Saturday evening. We are ready to plant a new church in Duanpea which is why I contacted you (the church planting team) to come and help us achieve our goal,” he added. They were indeed able to meet that goal early this year after 10 of his members were trained.
