Kono (2017)
The Kono JFCPS team consists of Emmanuel and Sahr. Emmanuel, the team leader, has been with the team from the beginning. He knows virtually every village in their district and wants to see churches planted everywhere in this region.
As of December 2017, the Kono team has planted 115 churches around the Koinodugu district. They have shown the JESUS film 230 times through which more than 6,515 have made a decision for Christ. More than a third of those who prayed to receive Christ committed to eight weeks of follow-up lessons, including the topics of new life in Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and Prayer.
There is still a large area in the Eastern Province that the Kono team aims to reach. Several pastors have invited the JFCPS team again and again to plant new churches with them, but there are more who are eagerly waiting for the team to get to their area. Pastor Karim, a Kono pastor from Koidu Town recently said, “This new church planting is a real opportunity and I don’t want to be left out of it. I believe this will enlighten my members and even revive the few ones that will be part of the Action Group training. I, myself, will be part of it, and I am more than zealous about this training. It will be of great assistance to me in the church work. The materials are wonderful and will serve as one of our Bible study materials."
