Kono (July 2012)

“I want to thank you for coming to explain your new JESUS Film Church Planting Strategy. I like it because it offers spiritual training for our church members and also provides us with good Christian materials that will help us bring people to Jesus and also teach them how to grow in their faith,” said Pastor Michael K. Y. Sundu of the United God is Our Light, a Pentecostal church in Koidu City. “I believe this strategy will help our church to be more successful in spreading the gospel throughout this district,” he added.

Initially, Pastor Tamba Mbriwa of the Elevating Power Chapel in the same city did not intend to plant a new church this year. “But your offer to train us and provide us materials helped me realize we are capable of doing what you are asking us to do.” Now he is excited to see how this church planting strategy will change their church and help others receive the gospel.

In Njaima Town, Pastor Emmanuel Konoboy was very grateful. “Surely this is the kind of strategy that we need to embrace. No one has ever offered to come and train our church members free of charge and also provide materials for us to work with. We are ready to work with you in our district.”

The two-man Kono JESUS film church planting team conducted training twice a month in different places. The feedback they gathered was usually with regards to how the trainees were helped in their own understanding of the Spirit-filled life, and how they have been equipped to share the gospel with others. Attendees left the training greatly encouraged to live out and pass on what they have learned in three days.

One of the trainees was Noah Yaika from the United God is Our Light church. “I praise God for this action group training,” he said. “Thank you for the free materials. The eight lessons in the manual are spiritual eye-openers. This training has strengthened my own Christian life. Sometimes we think we can live the Christian life for our own righteousness.”

Another trainee from this church liked the Road to Life booklet because “most people around here cannot read but they can easily understand what the pictures in this booklet say about God and the road that leads us to Him.” He also said that he learned many spiritual truths from the Bible that he never knew before.

For Samuel T. Musa of The Light of the Lord Ministry, the Road to Life booklet was also a very helpful tool. “I have never found it easy to share my faith with others. I look forward to using the Road to Life booklet to help me when I tell others that they can also experience God’s love and forgiveness. I have learned many spiritual truths during this training and I am sure they will affect the way I will live for God in the future.”

New churches were recently planted in the villages such as Yorkodu, Manjama, Kongboar, Quikma, Suma, Dunamor, Ngodama, and Sukudu, and Koidu City. Ngodama, and Sukudu, and Koidu City.
